Non-Interventional Cardiology

Houston’s Non-Invasive Cardiology Specialists
At CLS Health, our cardiologists bring advanced training and a patient-first approach to every visit. General (non-interventional) cardiology focuses on prevention, early diagnosis, and medical management—helping patients protect their heart health and avoid complications over time.
Our board-certified cardiologists treat high blood pressure, high cholesterol, arrhythmias, heart failure, and coronary artery disease, and provide expert guidance for managing risk factors such as diabetes, obesity, and family history of heart disease.
With nine cardiology locations across Greater Houston, we offer comprehensive, non-invasive heart care—including diagnostic testing, personalized treatment plans, lifestyle guidance, and ongoing follow-up. Known for their compassion, expertise, and attention to detail, our cardiologists are consistently rated among the top in patient satisfaction.
What is a Non-Interventional Cardiologist?
Not all heart problems require procedures. While interventional cardiologists perform minimally invasive treatments like stents or valve repair, non-interventional cardiologists focus on prevention, early diagnosis, and medical management to keep your heart healthy.
Your doctor may refer you to a cardiologist if you experience chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, or irregular heartbeats. You may also need a evaluation if you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or a family history of heart disease.
At CLS Health, our cardiology team provides comprehensive non-invasive care, including diagnostic testing, medication management, and personalized lifestyle guidance. Our goal is to manage heart conditions early and effectively—often reducing the need for procedures down the road.
We welcome self-referrals, as well as referrals from primary care physicians and other specialists.

Conditions Treated
At CLS Health, our cardiology team provides comprehensive care for heart and vascular conditions ranging from high blood pressure to complex structural heart disease. We combine advanced diagnostics, personalized treatment plans, and long-term monitoring to help you protect your heart health and live confidently.
We help patients manage hypertension and high cholesterol through personalized lifestyle guidance, medication therapy, and routine monitoring. These conditions often have no symptoms but significantly increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. Our goal is to help you achieve safe, steady improvements that support long-term cardiovascular health.
We diagnose and treat coronary artery disease (CAD) and other vascular problems caused by reduced blood flow or blocked arteries. This includes comprehensive risk-factor management for diabetes, obesity, and family history to prevent disease progression. Our cardiologists use advanced testing and medical therapies to reduce symptoms, improve circulation, and lower your risk of cardiac events.
We evaluate and manage arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation and other irregular or rapid heart rhythms. These conditions can cause palpitations, fatigue, or dizziness and may increase the risk of stroke. Our team provides medication management, monitoring, and coordinated care to help restore and maintain a healthy heart rhythm.
We care for patients with heart valve disorders — including aortic and mitral valve disease — as well as cardiomyopathy and other structural heart conditions. These disorders can affect how blood flows through the heart or how the heart muscle functions. We provide ongoing evaluation and treatment to relieve symptoms, preserve heart strength, and prevent complications.
We diagnose and manage heart failure and other conditions that affect the heart’s ability to pump blood effectively. Our team creates individualized plans that may include medication, lifestyle adjustments, and close monitoring to help reduce symptoms and improve quality of life. With the right care, many patients can manage heart failure safely and stay active.
Diagnostic Testing
We use advanced cardiac testing to diagnose symptoms, assess heart function, and guide personalized treatment plans. These studies help us identify blocked arteries, rhythm disorders, valve problems, and long-term risk factors — so you receive the right care at the right time.
We perform specialized rhythm evaluations to diagnose palpitations, irregular heartbeats, dizziness, and unexplained fainting. Tests such as electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG) and wearable Holter or event monitors allow us to detect electrical abnormalities that may not appear during a short office visit. These tools help us identify rhythm disorders early so we can begin timely treatment.
For patients with heart murmurs, valve concerns, heart failure symptoms, or shortness of breath, we use imaging studies such as echocardiography, cardiac CT, and cardiac MRI. These tests provide detailed views of the heart muscle, valves, and blood vessels, allowing us to assess how well the heart pumps and whether structural abnormalities are present. This information guides treatment and long-term monitoring.
Stress testing helps us understand how your heart functions during physical activity and is commonly used to evaluate chest pain, exercise intolerance, or suspected coronary artery disease. By monitoring blood flow, rhythm, and heart rate under stress, we can detect blockages or performance issues that may not appear at rest. These results help determine whether further treatment or advanced testing is needed.
We use blood tests and clinical evaluations to assess your risk for developing heart disease and to monitor existing conditions. These tests measure cholesterol levels, blood sugar, inflammation markers, and other indicators linked to cardiovascular health. Identifying these risk factors early allows us to create preventive, personalized strategies that protect your heart long-term.

FAQs
A non-interventional cardiologist specializes in diagnosing, treating, and managing heart conditions using medications, lifestyle changes, and non-invasive tests. They do not perform surgeries or procedures like stents, but focus on prevention and long-term heart health.
You should see a cardiologist if you have chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, high blood pressure, or risk factors like diabetes, high cholesterol, or a family history of heart disease.
They use non-invasive tests such as EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitoring, and CT scans to evaluate your heart’s health and detect problems early.
A non-interventional cardiologist focuses on diagnosis, prevention, and medical management, while an interventional cardiologist performs procedures such as angioplasty or placing stents to open blocked arteries.
CLS Health accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and most major health insurance plans. Schedule an appointment with our experienced cardiologists to receive comprehensive heart care covered by your insurance.
