Helping You Take Control of Your Mental Health

Mental health challenges can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face them alone. At CLS Health, we provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care to help patients in Houston and Webster manage depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and other mental health conditions.

Our experienced psychiatrists offer comprehensive evaluation, medication management, and interventional treatments designed to restore balance and improve quality of life.

Whether you’re seeking psychiatric care for the first time or continuing ongoing treatment, we create personalized plans to help you find relief, build resilience, and move forward with confidence.

Psychiatrist vs Psychologist: What’s the Difference?

  • Psychiatrists are medical doctors (M.D. or D.O.) who diagnose and treat mental health disorders with medications and interventional procedures. They focus on conditions like depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
  • Psychologists hold a Ph.D. or Psy.D. and provide therapeutic care such as CBT and talk therapy, but generally don’t prescribe medications (except in some states with special training).

At CLS Health, we offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) as an advanced, non-invasive treatment for patients with depression who haven’t found relief through medication or traditional therapy alone.

TMS uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate specific areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. Each session lasts about 20 minutes, with no anesthesia or recovery time required, allowing patients to resume normal activities immediately after treatment.

Over a series of sessions, TMS can help restore healthy brain activity, improve mood, and reduce symptoms of depression — offering new hope for those living with treatment-resistant depression.

Conditions Treated

At CLS Health, our psychiatry team provides compassionate, evidence-based care to help patients manage emotional, behavioral, and mental health conditions. We take the time to understand your symptoms, life circumstances, and goals to create a treatment plan that supports lasting stability and improved quality of life.

We help patients living with depression, bipolar disorder, and related mood conditions regain emotional balance and daily functioning. Our psychiatrists evaluate underlying factors—such as medical conditions, stress, or seasonal changes—and provide personalized therapy, medication management, and lifestyle guidance.

Whether you’re coping with major depressive disorder, seasonal affective disorder, or bipolar episodes, our goal is to help you achieve sustainable improvement and restore a sense of hope and motivation.

Our team treats a wide range of anxiety conditions, including generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, and performance-related stress. We focus on identifying triggers and teaching tools to reduce both physical and emotional symptoms of anxiety.

Through a combination of psychotherapy, medication, and coping strategies, we help patients regain confidence, manage fears, and feel more comfortable in daily life.

Life changes, chronic stress, or traumatic experiences can deeply affect mental health. We support patients with adjustment disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) by addressing both emotional and physical symptoms like anxiety, flashbacks, and sleep difficulties.

Our approach integrates therapy, mindfulness, and medication when appropriate—helping patients build resilience, process trauma safely, and regain a sense of control.

We provide evaluation and ongoing management for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions that affect focus, organization, and impulse control.

Our psychiatrists collaborate with families, schools, and primary care providers to ensure a comprehensive support system—helping both children and adults reach their full potential through treatment plans that may include behavioral therapy, medication, and structured routines.

Quality sleep is essential for emotional and physical health. We treat insomnia and related sleep disturbances that often occur alongside depression, anxiety, or medical conditions.

By identifying underlying causes and developing individualized treatment plans, we help patients improve sleep patterns, reduce fatigue, and restore daily focus and well-being.

Services Offered

At CLS Health, our psychiatrists provide comprehensive mental health services designed to support patients through every stage of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. We take a holistic approach—addressing biological, psychological, and social factors—to help each achieve lasting emotional wellness.

We begin with a Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation, a detailed assessment that reviews your mental health history, symptoms, and overall well-being.

During this evaluation, we take the time to understand your experiences, life circumstances, and any contributing medical factors. This allows us to create a clear, personalized treatment plan that aligns with your needs and goals.

Our Medication Management services focus on prescribing and monitoring psychiatric medications to ensure effectiveness and minimize side effects. We maintain ongoing communication with each patient to evaluate progress, adjust dosages, and coordinate care with other specialists as needed.

Our goal is to find the right balance that helps stabilize mood, reduce symptoms, and support long-term recovery.

FAQs

During your first psychiatric consultation, the objective is to understand your mental health concerns, medical history, and treatment goals. The psychiatrist will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of your symptoms to determine their cause. At the end of the session, a diagnosis and treatment plan will be discussed. If a specialized treatment is needed beyond the clinic’s services, a referral to the appropriate provider will be given.

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. It is diagnosed through a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and attention testing. A psychiatrist will assess symptoms, rule out other conditions, and determine if ADHD is present. Treatment often includes medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle modifications

Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is marked by persistent sadness, loss of interest, fatigue, sleep disturbances, difficulty concentrating, and feelings of worthlessness or hopelessness. Some individuals may also experience changes in appetite, physical aches, or thoughts of self-harm. If these symptoms persist for more than two weeks, seeking professional help is recommended.

Adjustment Disorder is a mental health condition triggered by a significant life change or stressful event, such as job loss, divorce, or the death of a loved one. It leads to emotional distress, anxiety, sadness, and difficulty coping beyond what is considered normal. Symptoms usually appear within three months of the stressor and improve over time with therapy, support, and coping strategies.

A bipolar episode refers to an extreme mood shift in individuals with Bipolar Disorder. There are two main types:

  • Manic Episode – Elevated mood, increased energy, reduced need for sleep, impulsivity, and sometimes delusions or hallucinations.
  • Depressive Episode – Persistent sadness, fatigue, low motivation, and feelings of worthlessness. Bipolar Disorder requires medical management with mood stabilizers, therapy, and lifestyle adjustments.

Anxiety triggers the amygdala, the brain's fear center, leading to heightened alertness, increased heart rate, and excessive worry. Over time, chronic anxiety can impact memory, concentration, and emotional regulation by altering brain chemistry and increasing stress hormone levels. Therapy, mindfulness, and medication can help manage anxiety effectively.

You may need to see a psychiatrist if you experience:

  • Persistent sadness, anxiety, or mood swings that interfere with daily life.
  • Difficulty coping with stress, relationships, or traumatic events.
  • Changes in sleep, appetite, or energy levels.
  • Inability to focus, increased impulsivity, or disruptive behaviors.

A psychiatrist can provide the necessary support, diagnosis, and treatment for better mental health.
